In Her Memory
Teria had a heart that could not pass by someone in need. She gave food, shelter, and financial help to others without hesitation β not because it was her job, but because it was who she was. This program carries her name and her spirit forward.
Her memory lives at the heart of a program designed to help individuals and families do more than find a place to live β we want them to plant roots, build financial stability, and create a legacy for generations to come.
About the Program
Teria Family Tree is a permanent housing and homeownership initiative of Designed to Soar, Inc., created in loving memory of Teria Renee Herring-Richardson.
Teria Family Tree provides supportive pathways from housing instability to permanent housing and, when possible, homeownership. Through financial education, credit development, budgeting, counseling, and individualized planning, families are equipped with the knowledge and tools needed to build a stronger financial future.
In 2026 and beyond, building generational wealth requires more than a roof over your head. It requires financial knowledge, credit strength, digital literacy, and the ability to navigate an economy shaped by technology and change. Teria Family Tree prepares families for all of it β so what they build today can sustain their children and grandchildren tomorrow.
Program Highlights
Helping individuals and families establish safe, stable, long-term housing where they can put down roots, build community, and thrive.
Practical guidance in budgeting, saving, credit building, debt management, and preparing for the financial responsibilities of homeownership in today's economy.
Individualized preparation and support to help eligible families progress from renting toward owning a home of their own β including down payment assistance navigation and first-time homebuyer programs.
Equipping families with the knowledge to build assets, invest wisely, protect what they establish, and create opportunities that can benefit future generations in a rapidly changing economy.
Helping families navigate online banking, digital financial tools, credit monitoring platforms, and the technology increasingly required to manage finances and access housing resources in 2026.
Through every family that finds stability and every set of keys placed into the hands of a new homeowner, Teria's legacy continues to grow β one family, one home, one generation at a time.

Get Help Finding HousingNo Family Left Behind
The Teria Family Tree program serves every family β including those with members who have physical, developmental, or intellectual disabilities. We believe stable housing is not a privilege; it is a foundation every family deserves, regardless of ability.
Our case managers are trained to connect families with accessible housing resources, ADA-compliant home modification programs, and disability-specific financial assistance so that no family is turned away or left to navigate the system alone.
Teria believed in the strength of every family. We carry that belief forward β planting roots for families of every shape, size, and ability.

The Heart Behind the Mission
Teria was a mother, a daughter, a sister, and a friend who poured herself into everyone around her. Her love for her children and her community was the kind that leaves a mark β the kind that builds something lasting.
This program carries her name because it carries her heart. Every family we house, every child we stabilize, every root we help plant β it is all in her honor.
A Legacy That Continues to Grow
When those roots are nurtured, they grow stronger, branches reach farther, and what was planted today can provide shelter for generations tomorrow.
Teria Family Tree was created from love, remembrance, and purpose. Through every family that finds stability, every person who becomes financially empowered, and every set of keys placed into the hands of a new homeowner, Teria's legacy continues to grow.
